Polyurethane Bushings: How big of a problem is binding?

Looking at replacing my rear bushings and I’m curious if anyone out there has any experience with polyurethane bushings in stock suspension. I’ve read that they can bind up, causing not only squeaks but snappy, unpredictable handling. In light of this I’d prefer to “do it right” and use stiffer rubber bushings, but to be honest pressing those rubber bushings in sounds like a massive pain in the ass.

Has anyone had issues with binding after installing poly bushings? I’m fine with a stiffer ride and squeaks but I’d like to avoid unpredictable handling because that’s the problem I’m trying to fix in the first place.

I’m looking at Whiteline rear trailing arm and lateral link bushings on a ’97 Subaru Impreza, but I think this question applies pretty generally to all makes. Thanks for any and all comments!
