Hello everyone! My name is Max.
My dad and I have just recently finished restoring his 1986 CJ-7 Jeep. He had it since he was 15 and he worked on it with his dad. It sat in California for years. We brought it back in 2012 and started a frame off restoration. It’s wonderful! We repainted the body, (a Porsche silver), and put all new equipment in it. We finally got the exhaust done so we can run the engine without the neighbors wanting to kill us. The engine is a from a 2004 Chevy S10. 4.3L, with under 100,000 miles. We broke the MAP sensor during the install of the engine a while back but we replaced it. The problem we have is that when the engine gets up to operating temp, it stutters occasionally. One time it completely died. Dad thinks it may have something to do with a vacuum hose, or something of the sort. It runs great when it’s cold, but when it gets up to operating temp, it idles lower and has a harder time running. We aren’t mechanics by any means, but we love learning new things, and we’ve made it this far doing everything ourselves! Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
