My recent experience with 2018 4Runner TRD Pro; need feedback/advice how to proceed.

Long text below….

Two days ago I purchased a brand new 2018 4Runner TRD Pro. I waited 3.5 months for my vehicle from the date of the order until it arrived to my dealership in Texas. This would be my second 4Runner TRD Pro replacing my Inferno color one which I put some very difficult terrains and 63,000 miles. I was excited to get back the feeling off brand new shocks etc….

My excitement did not last long: First issue was discovered by the dealer when the truck did not have one of the options I ordered, sliding cargo deck. This one was important to me since I use the additional storage space and it can only be installed at the factory. I was disappointed but after seeing the vehicle without it I can make it work. Dealer through some more on my trade in and was quite embarrassed. They did submit the paperwork correctly, but somehow it got lost in translation. I have no reason to doubt them since I bought 3 vehicles from them in past 5 years with great experience.

I took the truck and drove home. As I get on a highway 10 minutes later I realized that when driving straight the steering wheel is not centered. Now this is something I can’t accept, it’s one of my pet peeves. I had two 4Runners and the alignment just never holds up for some reason and every single time I had it fixed the steering wheel was off center. I drive about 20,000 miles per year so I get punched in the face by it every single day.

Here it is

I let the dealer know and they worked on it all day yesterday. I, however, am aware that once a human hand touches what probably a machine put together, it just won’t be the same nor precise. They got it back to me and of course it is still not centered (it’s marginally better). I have no idea where else to take it since I never experienced a good alignment and I am at the point where I am willing to take the loss and just sell it back to them. I have also considered crushing it with a wheel loader on a live TV, but that might be a slight overkill.

I special ordered a vehicle, paid MSRP on it, waited 3.5 months, and now I am just disappointed. If anyone has any ideas on solutions please let me know. I submitted a ticket to Toyota corporate, but I am not sure what good it will do me. Every outcome from now on probably is: a human has to fix it with machine precision. I can’t return the damn thing either. I do want to raise hell somehow with Toyota, just for the simple fact that this truck was supposed to be special build which I waited for.

Please do not judge my selection of vehicles, I am aware they are better and cheaper once out there, these trucks just perfectly suit my lifestyle and height.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
