Leaving insurance for a different line of work – where is my experience useful for something else?

I’ve worked in claims for 6 years now, time split between auto and fire. I’ve never loved the work but never really hated it either, until lately. For a while I thought I could push through the stress and workload to enjoy a decent salary and retirement plan.

I just want out at this point but really don’t know what my skill set in claims would be valuable to in terms of a different career. My employer is one of the big name companies which I’m guessing looks decent on a resume.

People who have either left or had insurance co workers leave for a change of pace, where did you/they go?

Thanks in advance.
