How bad was the Chevy Aveo to work on?

I recently traded in a 2005 Chevy Aveo 4 door sedan for a Hyundai Elantra 2017 model. I was given $300 for the trade in. Even though I owned the car outright, it began to cost me more money than it was worth. It first had the thermostat assembly burst. After that, the car reliability went downhill rapidly. It began to develop a sputter. Then it began to stall out in park or if you came to a stop from starting the engine and it had not reached 2nd gear. It had an issue related when the air conditioning was turned on. The car would sound like I was tapping the gas pedal and releasing quickly. It also made the lights dim if I was near idle.

Did anyone else have this?
